I know this “type” of poem has been done and redone but this is my version.
If I could have you one more time
I’d stop right in my place
I’d grab and hold you in my arms
And see your loving face
I’d touch you just for me to know
That you are there for real
And welcome back your warm embrace
Recalling how you feel
I wouldn’t speak about the things
That don’t matter a bit
I’d beg you to come be with me
And hold me while I sit
Then I’d tell you more than once
That you are loved and missed
And how I miss you every day
And how we used to kiss
I’d hold on tight to every breath
For fear to let you go
But this was just my single wish
One single day I know
And when I open up my eyes
and know the time is done
I’ll remember how you felt this day
and miss you ’cause you’re are gone

Christine this is a beautiful love poem – and like Paul McCartney’s Silly Love Songs, what’s wrong with that???!!!??

Thank you. Even though I am lucky to have found love again the missing part never goes away

True. But love is an endless commodity! There is always enough to go around and everyone gets more than enough!
