100 Forms of Poetry: #80 Sequidilla

I must go back to my personal poetry challenge and at least get through the first 100! I have not done a new poetry form from my list in a very long time. The last one I did was Roundelay (#78) but it is really #79 on my list so I have no idea what is going on….

Anyhow, Sequidilla is next

Seguidilla. Spanish 7-liner that began as a dance song.

So here are the basic rules:

7-line poem
Syllable count for each line is 7-5-7-5-5-7-5
One assonance rhyme between lines 2 and 4; another one between lines 5 and 7
Pause between lines 4 and 5–usually an end stop
Also, the tone or focus changes between lines 4 and 5 as well

Seasons

The time of year is coming
Memories abound
Happiness is just as near
Laughing, crying sound
Autumn comes faster
Time to prepare for deep sleep
Full moon broadcaster
