We were so extremely lucky! We thought we were going to get flooded and we actually had no flooding and there was very little damage outside around the house. We lost a gazebo, but it wasn’t a great fantastic one anyways. We are very lucky and I am so thankful.

The hurricane is supposed to hit Wednesday into Thursday. We saw the videos of the traffic of people trying to evacuate so we are happy we left really early. I can’t say I have everything I wanted to grab, just in case my house gets totally damaged, but I have enough and the other stuff is just stuff…

Stay safe. My cousin in Tampa is packing up to head out as well. Only he’s going South to Ft. Myers, also in the path of Milton but to a newer home on higher ground than the one he was in during Helene. Lost most of his stuff that time. I should change my name to Worry Wart. Praying for everyone down there.

They made it to Fort Myers and I am praying they will be safe there. I have several other cousins in the area that are not accounted for yet but trying to keep spirits up. They posted a photo of the traffic heading north. Not so many going south, so I hope they will be okay in Ft. Myers. Not very encouraging though.
