Celestial’s prompt guidelines

- Create a limerick inspired by the image above.
Grandpa’s Clock
There was a old clock, it wouldn’t stop
It hung in my grandfather’s shop
Still there when I woke
The thing never broke
So here comes my karate chop!

Poor Buster
Buster’s time had finally come
His one chance to say he wasn’t dumb
He stood up real tall
To his death he did fall
People say that he was a bum

***Before writing the limericks I wrote this then remembered it was supposed to be a limerick. I didn’t want to just delete it so I am adding it on…***
Time Goes On
As real time goes on, my mind goes wild
From losing a spouse then losing my child
Memories will last like nothing I hold
Pain will be lessened, with time, I am told
Sometimes I still laugh at things that we did
Then I cry, keeping sad ideas hid
My life now goes on and’s mostly happy
This is just how things are daily for me.

I laughed. Then I cried. ❤️❤️❤️

I admire your limerick ability! I have a really tough time writing them… Yours are fun! As for the serious poem – that is a wonderfully heartfelt verse. Losses are life defining moments…

Scary because all day after that I “thought” in limericks. Sometimes I think I might really be losing my mind! 🤪

Time does go on, but, like that image of the clock, can have many expressions, can have evoke different feelings.
No wonder that clock took a chop! Good to know you can sling limericks with the rest of ’em.
