100 Forms of Poetry: #76 Rondel

Always Unpacking

My goal now, to lighten my load
Getting rid of unwanted stuff
Sometimes it gets a little rough
But I must keep on this long road

Slow and steady, sort of my mode
Needed things but not all the fluff
My goal now, to lighten my load
Getting rid of unwanted stuff

Listening to music rhythm flowed
Keep my voice low, minimal gruff
Finding papers, boxes and fluff
Holding my things that I have sewed
Slow and steady, sort of my mode

I have been in my home now for two years and still have things I need to go through from when I lived up north. It’s hard because I like my things but won’t wear the same things now, especially since my job isn’t one where I need to dress up.

Rondel Rules:

  1. Poem consists of 13 lines in 3 stanzas
  2. Rhyme scheme: ABba/abAB/abbaA (uppercase letters are refrains)
  3. Usually 8 syllables per line
