Write a haibun that alludes to breath, breathing, or to breathe.
The Breath
I lay awake staring into the darkness, whether my eyes are open or closed, the darkness envelopes me. My mind goes to the deepest reaches of my soul to find those feelings which have been hidden all day, kept under guard so as to lead a normal life as a functioning adult. The thoughts dart back and forth trying to pull me down into the sorrow while another part of me tries keeping my head above this wave, knowing that peace can be attained only when the mind is clear and ready to focus on nothing but the breath. Each inhale draws a new picture in my mind while each exhale pushes me toward solitude where my thoughts are put to rest.
Time to focus now
Believing that there is peace
Within my own soul

That was one thing I learned that I loved about blogging and writing…someone will write something and its almost as if I was thinking the same exact thing!

Thank you David. If I write from my heart that is just what happens, right?

Oh Christine, that’s so familiar! The final peace of the haiku is a welcome breath.

One of the specific reasons I love to write and love to read other people’s writing…you find yourself thinking that its exactly what you wanted to say!
