Book Review: Increased Mortality

Increased Mortality

By D.K. Greene

The second book in the Killers Club will not disappoint!

Sam is the newest nurse at St. Christopher’s and luckily she has been able to keep her past a secret, for now! She is a hard worker though, and she is out to show everyone, and herself, that she is strong and able to be a great nurse. When single mother’s on her floor start dying shortly after giving birth all signs point to Sam’s negligence and eventually she is charged for the murders. Along with this horrible turn, her past is being revealed and her past drug problems seem to be creeping back on her. She swears she’s been clean but when the police find a stash of prescription drugs from her patients in her home, there is no denying Sam has a problem.

One of the aspects that stands out for me is how Greene has tied this story to the Killers Club Book One, Where Bodies Lie. Although this connection is made, both books can be read as stand-alone novels with a great plot line. There were a few aspects I wish Greene had delved deeper into but overall this was a great book. I look forward to Book Three which is coming soon!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars for its storyline and fast pace. The characters are believable as are the situations and the connection between the two stories is flawless.
