Where Bodies Lie
By D.K. Greene
Book one in the Killers Club series
Peter is an honest hard worker with a terrible past. Moving from one city to the other has been a constant as Peter has to conceal his identity. Under a witness protection program, Peter has had to recreate a new life many times, as many times as he is found out to be a killer’s son. Peter’s father is a well-known, imprisoned serial killer who has decided to start revealing the locations of his victims. Another secret Peter must both hide and learn to live with.
It is when Inspector Douglas reappears that Peter finds his new task less threatening. Douglas has known Peter and his father since the beginning and has always promised Peter to help him no matter what. Now, as Peter is scheduled to meet his father, Douglas is a safe, strong friend Peter has needed, he feels, his whole life.
Meeting with his father Peter feels contempt and sadness. He had always wanted a real father and remembered the days when life with him and his happily married parents had been perfect. Now, with hate coursing through his veins, Peter has agreed to meet with his father Ollie, as Ollie has promised to reveal the location of his many victims but only in the presence of his son. As they spend more time together Peter feels the yearning for his father’s love and Ollie begins to explain his story. In the thick of it all, Ollie also helps Peter write his own story, a story which can lead his father to finally connect, understand, and love his grown son.
I gave this story four out of five stars for its fast pace, believable characters, and twisted plot. Throughout the story, the reader feels like they “already knew” what was happening but it is at this point that D.K. Greene throws in a bit of a plot twist, enough to explain previous aspects while setting the story up for yet another adventure into this killer’s mind through the unknowing, innocent love of a son who just wants his dad back.

I love the sound of this one Christine! Will definitely check it out!
