- Write an Ekphrastic Poem based on the photo of Auguste Rodin’s ‘The Thinker’ above;
- Theme: Good Parenting;
- Rhyming: Left to your discretion
Taking the time to sit and think about the relationship
created and responsibility imposed upon you while pondering decisions
that have been made and will be made.
Realizing the importance of presence and presentation,
analyzing the impact of your role,
and finding the strength to continue forward,
hard as stone but as comforting as soft arms to enfold your loved ones.

Reading some of your old poems, this one was really good 🙂

Some decisions must be made so quickly.
We hope and pray they are the right ones.

Responsibility imposed.. 👏👏
It’s a privilege, it’s rewarding, it’s painstakingly unforgiving at times. Firm hands in velvet gloves. There is a fine balance to good parenting. And it doesn’t come with an instruction manual.
Good writing. 💙👏👏👏

The poem beaut͏ifully captures the essence of good parent͏ing: a deep reflect͏ion on the relat͏ionsh͏ip w͏ith one’s ch͏ild, the respons͏ib͏il͏ity of shap͏ing a l͏ife, and the courage to be both strong and compass͏ionate. I just loved the last l͏ine – “hard as stone but as comfort͏ing as soft arms to enfold your loved ones.” On the one hand, parents need to be strong and res͏il͏ient, able to w͏ithstand the challenges of ra͏is͏ing ch͏ildren. On the other hand, they also need to be lov͏ing and support͏ive, prov͏id͏ing a safe haven for the͏ir ch͏ildren to grow and thr͏ive. Good parent͏ing ͏is not easy, but ͏it ͏is one of the most reward͏ing exper͏iences ͏in l͏ife. It ͏is a journey of learn͏ing and grow͏ing, both for parents and ch͏ildren. And ͏it ͏is a journey that ͏is well worth tak͏ing. 👌👍😊

Oh… yes… I feel that I lack the necessary strength almost all the time, Christine!
