Tanka Tuesday: Groups of Animals

This week’s challenge invitation is to explore the world of collective animal nouns.

A flight of swallows
or a flock of geese
could never compare
to these birds of ease
who swim in a raft
or hang in a huddle
Penguins are special
So cute you could cuddle

Tuxedo wearing
Waddle in a colony
Swim in cold water

  1. Penguins ‘fly’ through the water. I had a children’s book a while ago that actually was just about the names of the different penguins. Cheerful and compainonable. I remember “Happy Feet” 😀
