This week the theme is to find a song that was recorded at Sunset Sound studio.
Earth Wind & Fire recorded at Sunset Sound Studio. One of their first albums was in 1971, the year I was born!
Do you remember
The 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced in the night, remember
How the stars stole the night away, oh yeah
Hey, hey, hey
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancing in September
Ba-dee-ya, never was a cloudy day
Ba-du-du, ba-du-du, ba-du-du, ba-du-du
Ba-du-du, ba-du-du, ba-du-du, ba-du-du
Ba-du-du, ba-du-du, ba-du-da
My thoughts are with you
Holding hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love, remember
How we knew love was here to stay
Now December, found the love we shared in September
Only blue talk and love, remember
The true love we share today
Hey, hey, hey
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancing in September
Ba-dee-ya, never was a cloudy day
There was a
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancing in September
Ba-dee-ya, golden dreams were shiny days
The bell was ringing, oh, oh
Our souls were singing
Do you remember
Never a cloudy day, yow
There was a
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancing in September
Ba-dee-ya, never was a cloudy day
And we’ll say
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancing in September
Ba-dee-ya, golden dreams were shiny days
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya

CHRISTINE ~
When it comes to Sunset Sound Recording Studios (which I’ve undoubtedly driven past hundreds of times without realizing how much musical history I was cruising by without a clue), I would guess that my favorite song recorded there was something by The Beach Boys.
.
But since I don’t know off the top of my head which songs by The Beach Boys were recorded there, I will vote for a song that I know for a *FACT* was recorded there. And that is ‘Chim Chim Cher-ee’ by Louis “Satchmo” Armstrong, which was recorded at Sunset Sound in 1968, four years after the release of Disney’s ‘MARY POPPINS’. I actually used Satchmo’s recording in a ‘Battle Of The Bands’ installment on March 1st of last year, but he lost to Dick Van Dyke 7-5. (I personally disagreed with that conclusion.)
.
I have recently (over the last 2 or 3 years) kind of “rediscovered” the movie ‘Mary Poppins’ and fallen in love with it, because I read some strong Spiritual messages into it that were not intended, and therefore most folks don’t see them. Fairly soon, I am planning to post something on my F-FFF blog about this. It will likely be a 2-part blog bit, because I feel that what I *has* to say may be too long for a single post.
.
Anyway, this was a very cool theme. Sunset Sound… Not only was I born and raised in the city of Sunset Sound Recording Studios, but I even grew up on a street named ‘Sunset’ (but not Sunset Boulevard).

Jim Adams, who hosts Song Lyric Sunday is quite the music guru. I have never been to California.

My late husband and I always joked that we would stay married until at least after our fifty year wedding anniversary party! Lol. Unfortunately, he passed away and we were only married 21 years.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope you celebrated the anniversaries you shared. Our three sons organised a surprise 50 anniversary party two years ago 💜💜

Great choice, Christine as I always liked this song and I think everyone should dance on the 21st night of September.
