My grandma’s name was Anna, so maybe from her.
I have a friend who I met working at a restaurant. We introduced ourselves and laughed because we were both named Christine. I asked her her middle name. Again, the same – Ann. Then her birthday! Yup, you guessed it! Same birthday! A different year, as she was older than me she always called me her little sister.

I think Ann was a very popular name – especially as a middle name 1950 – 1965 so it is no wonder that so many women have it as a middle name!!
