Illusion shown to her as he tried to impress
Seeing an ordinary building so dressed
He worked at his vision, difficult but true
Fixing a vision he had in white and blue
She had admired his work she had seen on walks
His increasing talent with never a balk
She discovered him as she sidestepped a pool
Painted so real, then realized she was a fool
He had been standing at the side of the street
Watching as people suddenly stopped their feet
Thinking the cement had actually opened wide
Seeing the illusion of a pool in their stride
He had hopes for his proposal showing her his latest
Achieving the blue bows seemed to be his greatest.
