A walk, a story, a snicker, and a sob. Not hand in hand but hearts connected. Sounds, smells, sights all provoke new memories, recall past, fond reminders.

Walking on the path
Best friends remember the days
Nothing can compare

A memory, an idea, silence, and tears. Hearts have known each other for years. The day was made to spend time with an old friend.

Looking left to right there is nothing but sand. The wind picks up a layer and swirls it to make new designs. Heat can be seen laying closely to the sand, almost touching the earth. Life is limited and sparse.

Desert is smouldering
Life lives in a different way
Dryness and heat here

Mars: dVerse Poets Pub

Welcome, Poets, to another Haibun Monday, where we blend prose and haiku into that unique form of poetry that Basho made famous. Frank J. Tassone here, and today, let’s talk about Mars! https://dversepoets.com/2020/03/02/haibun-monday-3-2-2020-mars/

With so much to see when you look at the sky, what do you focus your eyes on?
Do you see the stars and the lights that twinkle so brightly? These stars are so far away they can not be reached. What is that red ball? Is there life out there?

Mars is a planet
that people want to live on
if someday we can.
