wavelength, stroboscopic, hypnosis, trance, entertainment

The Cat in the Hat was back at the kid’s house
on this holiday day while mom had to work
He brought a big bag and a friendly small mouse
Having good friends and toys was one of his perks.

The kids want entertainment they told the cat
sending thoughts on a wavelength they always shared
The Cat brought a stroboscope, a fancy device
He thought kids and equipment were very well paired.

It all started just as some fun on this day
entertainment held both kids in a deep trance
Just like hypnosis, their grownups might say
is more dangerous than a kid’s groovy dance

But the cat was an expert, thats what he thought
about games for kids that were safe and were fun
He always kept boys and girls rules very taught
And he always cleaned up when they were all done

Just as he promised the kids were both safe
when mom came home right before bed
The Cat didn’t want the mom’s nerves the be chafed
and he said his goodnights and out the door fled.

Conspiracy: Compilation 01/27/2023

You live in a world where no Gods exist
where fantasy’s real and wishes will die
Nefarious creatures you face by the dozens
to do nothing more than than leer and tell lies.
But how do you yield to a power so bold
To lurch to the front of this crowd?
Without leaving truths spun so even and fine
yet speak in harsh words so terribly loud.
Time to throw in the towel, leave through the door
put the past far from that part of your mind
Of course the best path to take this time ’round
Verify any old clues you can easily find.

Your Church: Compilation 11/25/2022

It’s a transient world in this cesspool called life
where dangerous people cause infinite strife
But laid out before us in a subliminal church
A decoration of faith, a presentation of worth
It is here that we find peace and love undisturbed
With just an inkling of anger or just maybe perturbed
But we let it all go at the drop of a dime
Because all we’ve got left is our life and some time.

Reena’s Xploration Challenge #257

once upon a time in a land far away
there were three hooded villains that had no place to stay
They walked all day and night to find something to do
They wandered the open fields and busy cities too.

Then all of a sudden the wind began to blow
The temperature was dropping and it began to snow
They headed for a cave to stay calm, warm, and dry
When the biggest of the three of them just began to cry

He said he didn’t like this, the running and the cold
He said his back was aching, that he was getting old
He wanted to go back home where he could rest his head
but in the morning when they woke the poor guy was dead.

Road Trip: Compilation 07/07/2022

On a green verdant hill in the vast countryside
a presidential vehicle, driving fast, slowed its ride
Responsibility from aides shouted, “go by fast”
but in exercising the law this man screamed out at last
the man shouted, “no!” and said that he wanted to see
what was in a dark hole in a big, old oak tree.
He knew he should waiver or lest he be drawn
into the brambles that spread all around on the lawn.
a twig poked out, then it snapped with a crack
but in his dark mind, the twig pursued fighting back.
He quickly raised an arm to safely shield his dark face
surveying all the land to find a quick hiding place.
He turned to his right and saw a clown standing by
Horror filled his whole face and let out a strange cry
Running away towards the cars open door, he ran fast
Knowing he’d better get away or this trip’d be his last.

A Peaceful Feeling: Compilation 06/30/2022

Its a terrific day to bypass the world and languish what’s needing to be
Done are the days of silly cartoons dangling fake lives ‘front of me
I bend to the floor, escaping the lights, from the moon accessible through the blinds
My stonewashed jeans are clean and are dry and nothing weighs on my mind
The opalescence in this worldwide debut is the beauty of an angel’s halo
A zeitgeist of long gone serenity waits while dreams of a utopia grow.

This weeks prompt: “War is at the doorstep. What do you expect me to do?”

Cry from Ukraine

War is at the doorstep
What do you expect from me?
To pick up guns and ammo
or let the enemy be?
There is no point to fighting
for we were already free
Please go back to Russia
So we don’t have to flee.

War is at the doorstep.
What do you expect me to do?
Take away my family?
Abandon all that we knew?
For war is always ugly
and this one without cause
Our world must come together
There is no time to pause.
People here are dying
Lives are all at stake.
How many people do we lose?
How much can we take?
