Simply 6 Minutes—Welcome To The Challenge: 10/13/2020

Welcome to the 6 minute challenge!

Today’s prompt is:

*****For any participants that do NOT like restrictions, please feel free to participate in any way you would like. It is great to read the contributions!****

  1. Set up a timer or sit near a clock so you can keep track of the six minutes you will be writing.
  2. You can either use one of the prompts (photo or written) or you can free-write.
  3. Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
  4. After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
  5. *Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
  6. Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.

Thank you for participating!

Friday Fictioneers 9th October

For Rochelle’s challenge: https://rochellewisoff.com/2020/10/07/10-october-2020/

The Venue

As we pulled up to the restaurant our mouths hung open. The travel agent said this was a five star restaurant. What were we going to do now? This was supposed to be the venue for Megan’s wedding.

David and I looked at each other. We were in shock. We would now have to scramble to find a place to feed the families.

Megan pulled up a few minutes later. “Mom, I love it! This is perfect! Look at the view of the water. You both are the best parents anyone could wish for!”

David and I were happily surprised.

Photo Challenge 335

They say to go with it.
I’m trying.
Why is this going in slow motion?
What was I thinking anyhow?
Did I really need to run that fast up the stairs.
Damn carpeting.
I told Bruce the wood was better.
I guess Bruce was thinking of me at a time like this.
Carpet is softer.
How will I land?
I don’t want to get hurt.
Go with it.
Let it happen.
It hurts less.

WTF! Ouch!

What do you see?

When I look into the distance

When I look into the distance
I see you walking
with someone new
without me
smiling
laughing

When I look into the distance
I do not see us together
I am alone
without you
frowning
crying

When I look into the distance
my hopes for tomorrow
are as far away
as you are

Ribbons

Ribbons in the fairy garden

Blow in the breezes so soft

Colors for each and all to enjoy

Branches keep them aloft.

Promises whispered

Wishes can come true

Into the fairy garden

An angel walks with you.

Set your heart on your sleeve

And allow fairies to share

The love that they know is desired

Breezes blow love in the air.
