I was this week’s POW! Thank you, Elizabeth, for this honor!
Christine’s prompt: Alphabetic poetry
Write an alphabet poem using one of the following two structures:
A Ballet of Sorts
A beautiful choreography
dedicated
Especially for girls
Hoping idealistically
Juxtaposed kinship
Laced meaningfully
Narrated optimism
Proving quickly
Righteousness survives
Together under
Veils Xenially
Yet Zenithal

Hidden in Plain Sight
Amidst shadows and darkness
Belies the happiness
Covered in a veil
Developed to protect
Even the most sensitive
Fears that exist
Giving in to longing
Hoping a light will shine
Inside the soul
Just within reach
Knowing there’s a side
Longing to escape
Marginalization
Negates
Optimism
Purely to hold down
Quiet
Resilience
Silenced
Temporarily
Under the illusion
Verified by
Witnesses unknowingly
Xenial
Yet
Zealously optimistic

Having tried this challenge, I realize how hard it is is to convey a theme within these parameters. This is beautiful, reads with a flow. Looks effortless and the word choices are top notch.

Thank you! Yes, at first glance this form seems like an acrostic poem, but it is a bit more difficult!
