My Wish

With all of the things that I’m wishing for
The first thing I want is a new dancing floor
With black and white checks and shiny, large squares
Without any hazards like carpet or stairs
The next thing I want is new dancing shoes
The kind for the Samba, the Tango, the blues
I want them to sparkle and shine like brand new
They must be the perfect Dancing-Floor shoe
The third thing I want is music and cheer
The clapping and cheering are what I should hear
As I dance ’round the room and spin out my best
The applause from the crowd will be the true test
With just these three things, my life is complete
I’ll dance all my days, it’s my life’s own retreat
I’ll never stop smiling, ’cause how could I not?
If I had this potential new dancing spot?

For this week’s prompt, write a want poem. The poem could be about something you want, or that someone else wants.
