Write an Epistle Poem to Santa.
Dear Santa
To my dearest Santa
I’d like you to know
Despite what mom says
I listen although
Sometimes its hard
To stick to the task
When other things need me
Mom will still ask
For me to do things
That are really okay
And they can still wait
For just one more day
So I promise you now
No matter how hard
I will listen to mom
And I’ll disregard
That nagging desire
To do something right
When mom needs my help
I’m right in her sight
So if I do this
Do you think you’d be
Happy to leave me
Ten gifts by the tree?
The gifts are all listed
Right here at the end
I made it with Lizzy
My bestest new friend
So we could have things
Mostly things all the same
I’ve listed them all
Complete by brand name.
I’ve added a few
Theres more than just ten
But I’m giving you options
Just like when
Mom asked me why
I can’t make my bed
And I tell her I’ll do it
But do something instead
And tell my sweet mom
I’ve finished my chore
But she’ll have to trust me
I’ve locked my own door
So she can relax
Without one last care
And I promise to stay
Out of her hair.
Thank you dear Santa
You’re just the best
Now read my list good
While I get some rest.
