Meeting of the Minds
I leave my feelings in the dark,
secrets hidden in far away spaces
~ hold no preconceptions.
Paths are forged
as you outline ideas,
~ undeniable similarities unavoidable.
I don’t know your face
or your body language,
~ favourable intentions override desire.
Patience sought while thoughts spiral
I have no restrictions or reviews to heed,
~ I’m simply drawn by words you weave.
Sparks ignite the desire
that we colour in together,
~ ideologies tested with no consequence.
Wisdom fools truths hidden
in the meeting of our minds,
~ patterns emerge where chaos one prevailed.

Tapestry Poetry
- Description: Developed by poets Avril Meallem and Shernaz Wadia, this form involves two poets who write nine-line poems on a single, shared title without discussing it.
- Process: After composing independently, they weave their two poems into a single 18-line piece, editing it back and forth until they are both satisfied.
- Outcome: The collaboration creates a “tapestry” that blends their two distinct poetic visions into one cohesive work.
