He watched them unload the van from his spot on the hill. If they spotted him it would be a true miracle. The authorities said that to the public they were a roofing company, but shady business was happening and Mike was about to find out exactly what was going into those new roofs they boasted about. If he was lucky he could capture a video of them laying the drugs down before rolling out the tar paper. He had to admit it was an ingenious spot to store drugs but the thought of having to come tear it all out seemed daunting.
This was precisely the moment Mike saw the tall thin man come from inside the building carrying what looked to be a small shipping box. The man laid it on the ground and motioned to his fellow henchmen to gather round. Mike couldn’t hear what they said but he could tell by his animated hand gestures that this guy was loosing his patience.
Mike continued to watch for what seemed like hours but nothing suspicious or sensational happened, so after realizing the sun would be going down soon, he knew it was time to pack his stuff and go. He would have to wait until he got news about the next shipment which was supposed to arrive on the 15th.

A nice start to a mystery!

Surveillance work has got to suck- can you imagine just sitting there all-day watching people, waiting for them to do something wrong- and they never do? I’d go crazy.
