I don’t write reviews for all of the stories I listen to and I really wish I did. Sometimes I listen to one after the other and they all don’t leave an impression. This did!
This was one of the first stories I have listened to in a long time that I thought was written so well! I loved the story, the mystery, the twists and turns, and then finally the conclusion.
The Child in My House is a story of a woman going back to see the past she had left behind. Unbeknownst to her, she would meet a young girl, with selective mutism and a mischievous attitude, that would change her world forever. She hadn’t meant to meet anyone when she walked by the house. She hadn’t even meant to get hired as a nanny, but it was all working out and although Juliet is afraid of telling her secrets, she is about to find out that secrets don’t always remain hidden.
This is one of the stories I listen to then want to get in a physical book just to experience “reading” it both ways!

Sounds interesting!

It was really good! And actually very realistic in what happened and how the author tied it all together in the end.

I like a book that makes sense with the ending – too many just wrap it up quick and it feels fake…

That is precisely what I loved about this book. Every detail was accounted for in a real way.

I just finished another story “He’s Gone” by Rebecca Collomose. It seemed okay and then, yes, I am spoiling it, they kill the main character and then…the husband that had disappeared writes a note, the author uses it as the epilogue, to explain just about the whole book and to say he is coming back. What?!?!??! That is a cop out if you ask me.
