Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays!

This week’s theme is whatever music moves you!

I was trying to think of one of those songs that isn’t still around but that I just love!

Lyrics

Music is a world within itself
With a language we all understand
With an equal opportunity
For all to sing, dance and clap their hands

But just because a record has a groove
Don’t make it in the groove
But you can tell right away at letter A
When the people start to move

They can feel it all over
But they can feel it all over people
They can feel it all over
They can feel it all over people, no, yeah

Music knows that it is and always will
Be one of the things that life just won’t quit
But here are some of music’s pioneers
That time will not allow us to forget now

For there’s Basie, Miller, Satchmo
And the king of all, Sir Duke
And with a voice like Ella’s ringing out
There’s no way the band could lose

You can feel it all over
You can feel it all over people
You can feel it all over
You can feel it all over people

You can feel it all over
You can feel it all over people
You can feel it all over
You can feel it all over, yeah go

You can feel it all over
You can feel it all over people
You can feel it all over
You can feel it all over people

You can feel it all over
You can feel it all over people
You can feel it all over
I can feel it all, all, all-all-all over now people

Can’t you feel it all over?
Come on, let’s feel it all over people
You can feel it all over
Everybody all over people, go

  1. Thanks for joining the party, Christine! Incidentally, your original link up you copied & pasted my URL instead of yours, so I removed and it added you back to the party. 😉 Have a boogietastic week, dearie!

  2. I’ve always dug Stevie’s stuffs! He was a groovy cat who recorded some groundbreaking music. Today, I own 2 of his CDs which contain 30 of his songs including ‘Sir Duke’.

A few of his songs are especially precious to me. For example, ‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing’ and ‘He’s Misstra Know-It-All’ always make me think of my dear friend Marty, who was killed at the age of 29 by a car thief in Los Angeles (no, not all of the people who live there are “angels”).

And ‘Superstition’ – one of the funkiest songs ever recorded – always makes me think of The Diamondbacks’ miraculous World Series victory over the N.Y. Yankees in 2001. (While listening to Stevie’s ‘Superstition’ in my truck, I had a premonition that Arizona was going to win the Series, even though they were one game away from elimination at the time.)
