Sarah’s prompt guidelines
- Write a poem of up to 12 lines on the theme of hope or renewal;
- Poets can use this image (or another one) of a phoenix for inspiration if they like:

Goals
Like wings of gold high in the sky
Burning bright beneath the sun
Knowing that this bird can fly
I’ll feel relief when I am done
Obstacles stacked too high to bear
So high I cannot see the top
Feelings, sadness, hope and fear
Cannot contain me, I cannot stop
Looking inward to find my own light
I feel the waves of doubt in my mind
Yet keeping my hopes and dreams in sight
Knowing that peace and love I will find
So onward and upward against the grain
Knowing how much to cherish my soul
Moving fast forward without any pain
Happiness with loved ones, that is my goal.
