Lynn’s prompt guidelines

  • PROMPT: Compose a ‘list poem’, which includes the word ‘fall’ or some form of it (falling, fallen, fell, etc.).

List poem?

list poem is a deliberately organized poem containing a list of images or adjectives that build up to describe the poem’s subject matter through an inventory of things.

How to write a list poem

To write list poem, you may use lines, sentences, or even a list of single words. List poems don’t require a specific rhyme scheme or rhythm, but they can have them.

First Love

Falling fast
descending quickly
dropping rapidly
plummeting swiftly
Landing hard
settling firmly
touching down strongly
arriving solidly
Simply unaware
solely unconcerned
openly oblivious
incognizantly ignorant
First love
initial infatuation
primeval lust
Premiere devotion

    • When I tried to comment on you post with the limericks it said I wasn’t logged in but I was and no matter what I did it kept saying it so here is my comment:
I have to laugh because whenever I read a limerick all of a sudden my life becomes a rhyming limerick until it mysteriously wears off. I think in rhyme, turn everything I do and say into rhyme…I totally relate to all of your limericks! It’s like when I start my Cat in the Hat stuff.
