Audible Book Reviews

I listen to a lot of audio books. I listen when I walk the dog, in the car, and while I am working on miniatures. This year, 2024, I have listened to 59 different stories and have just started the 60th. This does not include the books I started but chose not to continue, mostly due to uninteresting plot lines. I thought it might be helpful to leave reviews on some of the books I have listened to because a lot of them are free with an audible membership. If I do leave a review I will try to remember to check if it was a free book or one I “bought” with credits.

  1. I have signed up to audible too. I also listen when walking the dog and also when I am relaxing. I used to love reading but I do get bad headaches and this is a way of not missing out. I do find the enjoyment of listening to the book is also dependant on the reader – do you find that? I have always known we all interpret differently but I have come to think it is also down to how we read. Out loud, or in our head, different again. So I have enjoyed quite a few but I can’t listen if I don’t connect with the “reader” which is a shame as it could be a really good book. Have you found this?

    • I definitely base my “enjoyment” on the narrator. I have listened to some books that I have not finished because I can’t stand listening to the voice. What kind of books do you listen to? I have found a few favorite authors who have free content. There are a few memorable listens and some I can’t remember at all!

      • I can’t get Vicious on audible – not available with my credits in UK.. I can purchase paperback with international delivery for £13.95 (which is steep) but I have lots of books still to read, and liking the audio as we said before. Recently I have listened to quite a few of Lisa Jewel. I enjoy psychological, thrillers, some with history or facts I learn along the way. Enjoy the play of characters and stories with a twist… if I don’t see it coming I enjoy it more, as I seem to be able to work out the endings … I get bored if too predictable …
