This is a poem I wrote and posted on PoetrySoup.com
Having a Passion For Fashion
Along the racks I wander
Past shirts and shoes and socks
I ponder what’s in fashion
For style is what rocks.
We look for every color
To enhance our beauty’s face
But what we find is never
Perfect for the perfect place.
If fashion is my passion
And writing’s just a whim
I should be in the section
Looking for a suit to swim.
I lie amongst the bathers
On towels bright and bold
And wonder what my life is like
Even when I’m old.
For now, I wander slowly
Never knowing what to ask
To make my body beautiful
Is always the last task

….. and this was another one!
Emerald Dress
The dress that you’re wearing is oh so sweet
from the curve of the neckline to the hem at your feet.
The color is brilliant as I’ve ever seen
What a wonderful shade of emerald green.
Where are you going in such a find dress?
I’d accompany you but I look like a mess.
Maybe another day we can have fun
Did I ever convey to you that you are the one?
You are the one who I love more than life
I think that someday I’d like to make you my wife.

I am pretty basic when it comes to fashion. Comfortable and affordable are priorities. Classic pieces that never go out of style are what I lean towards. The emerald dress sounds dazzling.👗

I wish I had more occasions to dress up.

I like the line, “…. To make my body beautiful Is always the last task”. Nice poem.
A wise takes care of his body, and a fool serves it.

I prefer comfort and just maybe my rebellion against is because my mom did and does *even in her 90’s) have a greedy need for clothes and approval.

I don’t have one “look”. I go with how I feel!

I’ve never much enjoyed fashion or clothing, it does seem like a lot of work! 🙂
That emerald dress though, it does sound gorgeous. When I was younger, that’s what I wanted.

When I was in college I worked in Disney World and we had a “graduation”. It was a fancy ball and I had this dark green, velvet cocktail dress. It was gorgeous and of course I was only 21 and looked a lot better in the dress than I could even imagine now! Lol

Sounds wonderful–and fun. 😊
My dad, at the Ambler Campus of Temple U., was involved in coordinating and sending students to Disney.
