A Stranger I Don’t Need to Meet
Who is this stranger
who changed my life forever?
The knock on the door
the sound of the doorbell
the information I never wanted
to not be there
to not call soon enough
he never checked
he pulled out
we don’t know if he was looking
the pain in my heart
the shortness of breath
the pictures of the scene
the pictures of a lifeless form
my life is broken
like the life I keep seeing
gone now
forever.
