For today’s prompt, take the phrase “(blank) Free,” replace the blank with a new word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles might include: “Home Free,” “Fat Free,” “Stress Free,” and/or “Completely Free.” You’re free to poem today, but don’t be poem free.
Breathe Free
The condition of the world
is not all at ease
For many of us
we only want peace
to stop all the fighting
to end all the war
to care for each other
to care a bit more
but so many people
think no one’s equal
When will they see
the ominous sequel
to fighting and war
are pain, tears and death
that living and life
are as free as a breath
Breathing is free and
so is real love
guided by people
and a God up above
