This week’s Story Starter teaser is:

James had it all, but still, it was not enough.

James had it all, but still, it was not enough. No matter how many college degrees he earned or good jobs he maintained, his brother always found a way to make him feel inadequate. He knew in his mind that this was all just his illusion but it didn’t matter how hard he tried to talk himself out of this feeling, it came around with his brother every time. “Funny,” James thought, “my brother Luke never even used his college degree and has no plan on ever using it.” Luke also got one college degree and was done. James had three degrees and was very well-rounded in the jobs department. Somehow, it took his wifes cajoling to keep him from losing his patience with his brother, enough so at least he didn’t ream him out and list all of his flaws. Inwardly, James knew that would do nothing to make him or his brother feel better about anything. It all came down to confidence, the one thing Luke definitely had enough of but James did not.
