Losing Faith
This week’s W3 poetry prompt is to compose a ‘Dormasha’ of at least three stanzas!
Dormasha?
- Child of the Shadorma
- (the Shadorma has a syllabic structure of 3/5/3/3/7/5 per line);
- Any number of stanzas, just like the Shadorma;
- At least one stanza must rearrange the order of the classic Shadorma’s syllabic lines;
- (e.g., 5/3/7/3/5/3 or 3/3/3/7/5/5, 7/3/3/5/3/5, etc., etc.);
- No two stanzas of the Dormasha can have the same syllabic line structure.

Losing Faith
(5/3/3/7/5/3 3/3/7/5/3/5 3/7/5/3/5/3 7/5/3/5/3/3)
Out of the darkness
A call comes
Telephone
I am okay and not hurt
The car is totaled
I’m fine
Is this real?
Was that true?
Did the telephone just ring?
Do not be alarmed
She is fine
No reason to cry
Be thankful
A life was not taken here
You can rest easy
She is safe
Reliving horror
Thanking God
Is there really a God here?
Why does this happen?
So unfair
So hard to believe
In a faith
After this

Oh, Christine – this is so powerful…
I missed it before – is it possible that you didn’t post it on Mister Linky last week?

An age old question – why does God let bad things happen to good people?

When will that question ever be answered?

A call during the night is always scary, glad she is ok! I can feel the tension in your poem.
