I don’t always participate in my own challenge because I am busy doing all the others but I just started rhyming in my head so I went ahead and did it.
The Cat Leaves Sad
The Cat in the Hat
Jumped out of the hay
“What should we do?
What should we play?”
The kids they just sat
And looked at the screen
The cat thought their silence
Was somewhat quite mean
He just didn’t know
Why the kids wouldn’t play
He always brought fun
Always fun all the way!
But the show had just started
And the kids were transfixed
The Cat realized just then
That play and tech just don’t mix
So he pulled at the plug
He pulled as hard as he could
But the tv stayed on
He thought that it would.
Instead of him staying
And being real bored
He packed up his fun things
Tired of being ignored.
He gave a quick wave
That nobody saw
And he walked away slowly
As he tightened his jaw
He didn’t want the kids
To see how he’d cry
But they barely noticed
As he said his goodbye

I stopped to see my dad last week and the office manager had her 8-month-old at work. Her sitter must’ve been sick. Anyhow, cutest thing in the world but playing on a phone! He knew to touch the screen to move things! I was floored!
