Jim took my suggestion and this week’s theme is songs with food in the title.
I love it when I think of a song to fit the theme before I have to look. This being said I thought about this song as it is one of my favorite groups! I couldn’t find the lyrics though!

Fun song and a very cool piano!

I have their “Boppin’ The Blues” album with Carl Perkins. I love their approach to the music almost as much as I like RC Cola and Moon Pies.

Nice choice, Christine and I was not able to find the lyrics either for this song although I did find some of them.
“Give me a RC Cola and a MoonPie
I’m playin’ Maple on the hill
I’ll catch that freight train on the blind
Leave my corn down at the mill
’Cause I sold my calf for a dollar and half
So Brother, I can pay the bill
Give me a RC Cola and a MoonPie
I’m playin’ Maple on the hill.”
In the 1930s, an RC Cola and a Moon Pie were filling the bellies of coal miners and laborers alike, earning the nickname “working man’s lunch.” It was a substantial snack, for a little money, which was ideal for the working class. In fact, you could get a Moon Pie and RC Cola for just five cents each!

Great prompt, and this is such a fun song! I’d not heard it before. But, I do agree that RC colas and Moon Pies are really good. 🙂
