Our challenge is to write a story in only six minutes using the photo below.
This one made me smile because just last weekend I was telling my granddaughter about American idioms, and I told her about “You can’t get there from here.”. It’s a familiar saying to me that originated in New England from a tale about a farmer trying to give a stranger, to his area, directions. Here goes:

It was mid-summer, and especially in New England, pothole repair and road work were everywhere. My hometown was no exception.
As I strolled down a sidewalk one day, a car full of strangers (Obviously big city folk.) pulled alongside of me and rolled down their window asking for directions to the airport.
“Well,” I said, “You take a left about a mile ahead at the Mini-Mart. Wait… there’s roadwork there so take a right at the Mini Mart…
