I’m inclined to think it’s that I don’t follow the crowd, and I march to my own metaphorical beat. But, as much as I love that about myself, it’s a very lonely road to walk sometimes, and in today’s polarized climate, it just gets me rejected and occasionally attacked from both sides.

Yes, but overall wouldn’t you rather march to the beat of your own drum alone than be miserable with a group of bad drummers?
