Ghost Eaters

Not the creepy I was looking for…

Ghost Eaters by Clay McLeod Chapman is not the book for me. Although the writing itself was fine, the storyline was dragged out and very anti-climactic. 

Young friends begin experimenting with a new drug called Ghost, which when ingested allows you to connect with anyone you can summon through your own personal seance. After losing a very good friend, one character decides that getting people “haunted” is the best new thing and it quickly draws people from all walks of life to the abandoned home, searching for their lost loved ones. 

I gave this story two out of five stars as it had a lot going on while having nothing going on at the same time. I believe the author could have had a really good short story here but overall it was disappointing. Chapman seems to have some good ideas and is a good writer so I will be interested in reading something else by him.
