Henrietta was a dying breed. She was a nurse who really cared about her patients at a personal level. Of course, back in her day, people we afforded longtime relationships with their healthcare professionals and weren’t simply a number on a chart.
When Mr. Gibson hadn’t shown up for his regular checkup, Henrietta took matters into her own hands and went to his house the next day. What she found surprised her!
Mr. Gibson had a lovely brunch prepared with her favorite fresh flowers on the table. He’d anticipated her dedication and made sure she was greeted with loving gratitude.
She wondered how she could have missed the ‘romantic’ twinkle in his eye, that he was currently wearing as he greeted her. She was usually so thorough.
