List three books that have had an impact on you. Why?
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo
I used two of his quotes in the short speech I gave when presenting the scholarship to honor my son.
I just find him so inspirational
- The Sound of Thunder by Ray Bradbury
The irony of it gets me every single time I read it!
- Flowers in the Attic
This was one of the first books I read that was…I don’t know what word to put…it wasn’t your typical fiction novel. I was amazed at the writing and the story itself.

The Alchemist is phenomenal…to me at least. The Sound of Thunder you can probably find online as a free PDF, it is a short story but the irony…Flowers in the attic is really old so you could most likely find it at a second hand book store if you have any near you. If you want to buy used books for a really good price – Better World Books. They sell donated books and all the profit goes to world literacy programs. Most of the books are $5 or less.
