Writing the limerick,
Isn’t a magical trick…
Casting a spell
If written well,
Needs a punchline to stick!

Rather like making bread,
Lim’ricks require a head…
Keyed to five lines
That humor refines,
Limericks’ butter and bread.

Subjects never run out,
Some sarcastic, no doubt…
Carefully write
Not out of spite,
Crafting a great shout out!*
