The family recipe was thought to have been lost years ago.
The family recipe was thought to have been lost years ago. No one ever expected to find it where they did! Mel had been going through the books on the bookshelf when she saw the old Bible her mother used to read. It was huge and probably two inches thick with a white leather cover. When Mel opened the book a few papers fluttered to the floor. Opening them one by one she read them:
- Anniversaries to remember, written in granny’s handwriting
- A receipt for a pair of leather lace-up boots bought from a cobbler!
- An old note my mom had written to granny asking her if she was coming for the holidays
- Grandma’s Cabbage Soup!
There it was, amongst the brittle, yellowing papers. Mel was so thrilled to have found the recipe but knew she had better type it up on the computer for fear of losing the paper!
