Billy, have you gotten the shovel out of the shed?
Indeed, I have.
Billy, have you gotten the lye and the safety mask?
Indeed, I have.
Billy, do we have a spot in the yard yet?
Indeed, we do.
Billy, do you know what comes next?
Billy sneered. Of course he knew. He’d push this old bag in and find himself the heir to a fortune!

FOWC with Fandango — Boutique

Betsy was a lady
with hair down to her arse
she loved her boutique clothing
despite it being sparse
She walked into a diner
to grab a bite to go
She didn’t see him staring
She didn’t even know
Then she left the diner
to walk out in the park
she didn’t know he followed
despite it getting dark
When she stopped to ponder
the trail that was amiss
the man jumped out and grabbed her
her lips was where he kissed
She thought that she was being
hurt by some old kooky nut
she knew that she could hit him
she knew she’d kick his butt
but when she saw his face then
under the moon so bright
she realized its her lover
Her man, her Mister Right!

FOWC with Fandango — Idiom

An idiom is a phrase, saying, or a group of words with a metaphorical (not literal) meaning, which has become accepted in common usage. An idiom’s symbolic sense is quite different from the literal meaning or definition of the words of which it is made.

Okay, I’m not going to beat around the bush here. I’m going to bite the bullet and just write. I know most of my blog followers won’t cut me any slack so I want to make it good.

What you might say
when he saunters your way
and your skin starts to crawl
and you wish you were small
enough to just shrink
but you’ve no time to think.

Well, I’m going to call it a night. I didn’t try to cut any corners even though I am a little under the weather, so I take this weight off my shoulders and say “goodnight”!

Why stay anonymous in a world of technology? Everything we do on any digital device is traceable. Police have programs that apparently find anything on any device even when it has been deleted to the best trash can ever. Hackers can find out anything they want including your shoe size and what color underwear you are wearing. Bosses can check histories on “their” devices…you are only borrowing it while working for them. They say Big Brother is watching…Does Big Brother know everyone’s name?

Do you have a SnapChat account? I do. I don’t use it too often, mostly just to post a picture that I want labeled with the location. It is the easiest way to label a photo. Well, there are Snapchat stories. No matter when I read one it almost always pertains to something I had just recently been talking about with David or Lindsay. How does it know what I am talking about? Aren’t those ads and all that just random? I have come to the conclusion that someone is always watching and listening. That is our world.

Definition of transitory

1: of brief duration TEMPORARY the transitory nature of earthly joy 2: tending to pass away not persistent

Upon this day I ponder
the ways of my life and
the paths I have taken
so that it may leave me
with a reflection of where
I will return to in my transitory state
to find peace and solace in the familiar.

Going Home

Brenda looked at the computer screen but didn’t read one word. It had been two months since she had been back in her home. Due to unforeseen circumstances she had been forced to move out of her house, leaving behind her partner, animals, and all belongings. Now she sits and wonders when she will get any amount of normalcy back.

Brenda’s sister Catherine is completely complacent when it comes to the situation, making it so hard for Brenda to even talk to her. Catherine is a local so this new lifestyle has not affected her life like it did Brenda’s. When Brenda is upset and missing her home, Catherine acts like she is over-reacting and acting like a baby. When Brenda tries to explain it to her sister, Catherine just rolls her eyes and says she can’t understand what the problem is.

Some day, hopefully soon, Brenda will be able to go home and be with the people who love her the most. Until then she puts a smile on her face and moves through the days, doing what is needed and expected of her.

Writing Class

Whether a shirt or pants or shoe

A note, a letter, even a clue

A word in English class is here

An article full of meaning clear

Do you know what word I mean?

Can it be a sight unseen?

A thing to know when writing well

For me the word came quick but fell.

FOWC with Fandango: retreat

Find it here: https://fivedotoh.com/2021/02/24/fowc-with-fandango-retreat/

Pulling up to the front door of the building we knew we were in for quite a weekend. Marble steps with gold railings leading up to a huge open foyer, all marble with a huge crystal chandelier in the center. A fountain splashed water of every color as the bulbs coursed through all the colors of the rainbow. We thought when we signed up for the Couples’ Retreat we would be in shoddy cabins with port-o-potties placed far enough away so as to not cause anyone discomfort. This was the exact opposite! Who would’ve ever thought the retreat would be held in such a beautiful location! This was something which would surely rekindle the flame between Marcus and I. I mean, how could it not?
