The name of the podcast is People in a Pod Unfiltered. I can listen to it on Spotify and I am getting directions on how to find it for those like me who have no idea where to look. Anyhow, it is 4 episodes titled Grief & Loss. I will update this post as I get more information.

This was going to first be for “things we drive” but then it was “things we play with” so the pictures sort of fit both…

Kriti says the bird is showing his strength

Life is Beauty..♥♥..

He was born on a beautiful sunny day
along with his
Two brothers and a sister
The day after they were born
Were called upon
By the mumma bird
Come I'll teach you how to fly
She said
Shred your fear and take a leap
Don't worry I'll hold your back
Everyone jumped off the ledge
Except the youngest
Who was still afraid to fly
And thought that the wings will not support him
His parents tried and tried
But he did not fly
So his parents used their trick
And ignored him all day
Tired of this behaviour and
Maddened by hunger
He finally took the leap
For a moment he was blank
But soon he realised
That his wings did support him
And didn't let him fall
Into the vast expanse of sea beneath
Now he flew like a jet
So fast that he left a trail beneath!

Fandango’s Provocative Question #206

What does the word “woke” mean to you? Is being “woke” a good thing or a bad thing? Do you consider yourself to be “woke”? Why or why not?

Unlike other four-letter acronyms associated with the social justice movement, the original term woke doesn’t stand for anything: it is literally the past participle of “wake,” as in “to wake up,” and that underpins its basic meaning.
According to Kelly Elizabeth Wright, an experimental sociolinguist and Ph.D. candidate at the University of Michigan, language — and the definition of woke — is ever-changing.
Woke had been extended figuratively to refer to being ‘aware’ or ‘well informed’ in a political or cultural sense

Woke to me means taking anything but white out of our history, at least by the Governor’s standards. I think it is awful and should be acknowledged as such. I heard a newsman say one day that it is prejudice and discrimination and that if people want to truly argue it then the way to do so is to say what it is and have DeSantis and anyone who believes in it say how it is NOT prejudice and discrimination rather than explaining what it supposedly is. What I took from this comment is that people can say it is this or it is that but how do you explain how it is NOT prejudice or NOT discriminatory.

If I understand it at all I am NOT woke at all, even though I am awake! Lol, couldn’t resist. I accept people of every race and color, gender, choice, and whatever. Hate is so disgusting. It is the character of the person that matters. There are good people and bad people of every color, size, sex, and belief but the only way to divide them is whether they are good people or not.

Susan presents new advertising!

Sillyfrog's Blog

Today’s photo prompt below:

Greek had taken over the family “baby delivering business” when his dad, Spartan, retired. He was inexperienced and when thrust into the consumer world, he found out immediately that dealing with the public was a mostly thankless experience.
Greek’s business floundered after numerous poor reviews mounted over extremely short delivery delays. His elderly father’s feathers were even more ruffled than his own by the nit-picking level of customer complaints, so he called on an old buddy, Roman, who had been quite the innovator in his day.
Roman found nothing wrong with Greek’s management but thought the company needed better advertising. When an impromptu photoshoot offered an accidental image for their rebranding, they knew they’d found the perfect image and new hook line!
“Even if Trojans let you down, Greek jets you your surprise package.”

Bob, going in for a landing, regretted his choice of spice the previous evening. It seemed like a brilliant idea, ordering two curries. Two Birds, One Stone, a restaurant with a six feather review. Now, is bowels were going in for a landing before he was. The smoke roared out of his cheeks, ready to blow the wind away. His friend, Sally, wouldn’t even fly near.

Genre: Historical Romance/ Prohibition Era/ Clean Romance

A big dreamer and successful novelist carries the sins of his father and a secret that leaves him wondering if he is the author or killer of love.

Stephen feels he is marked from day one to lose the ones he loves. His mother dies giving birth to him, and his alcoholic father makes sure Stephen never forgets it. To block out his father’s hate, fists, and belt, young Stephen loses himself in his imagination. Stories become his closest companions and barricades against a family that never wanted him. Once he can look his father in the eye, Stephen swears he will never be the monster his old man is. He vows he will become a published author, if for no other reason than to prove his father wrong.

While his dreams of being a bestselling novelist and falling in love come true, Stephen has much to prove to himself before he can write his own happy ending. Set against the backdrop of Prohibition-era Cleveland, Stephen fights the same alcoholic demons that plagued his father as he tries to begin a life free from his family. He meets equally headstrong Julie and is smitten, but their marriage is as fractured as his career is solid. He can find ten ways to write about being in love, but he has a hard time translating love on the page to love in real life. Julie slips between his fingers like sand, and Stephen sees his father staring back when he looks in the mirror.

Try as he might to rewrite his life, even going so far as to change his name, he has to wonder if he is the author or the killer of love.

About the Author

Cynthia Hilston is a stay-at-home mom of three young kids, happily married, and lives in the Cleveland, Ohio, area. Writing has always been like another child to her. After twenty years of waltzing in the world of fan fiction, she stepped away to do her debut dance with original works of fiction, although she still dabbles in fan fiction.

In her spare time – what spare time? – she devours books, shamelessly watches Hallmark movies and When Calls the Heart, pets her orange and black kitties, looks at the stars, drinks wine or coffee with good friends, and dreams of what other stories she wishes to tell.
