No One Will Look Here

Jim is giving us “gangsta insight”!

A Unique Title For Me

The corpses of all the men he killed were buried in this hallway resting peacefully.  Joe was a hit man, and his job was to kill people and he was good at it.  He figured that everyone eventually dies, and some people just need a little help doing that and besides the money was good as long as nobody knew where the bodies were buried.  Joe wanted the bodies to be unnoticeable, and he thought that could be accomplished by having them in a visible setting that would mask their presence, so he hid them in plain sight.  The optical illusion of the dip created in the floor was obvious for anyone who walked down this hallway, as nobody would ever miss it.  Most people were happy to get out of this hallway without losing their balance and nobody wanted to stick around here.  Since the dead bodies blended in…

One Tough Lady: Compilation 01.03.2023

One tough lady

She thought she heard his voice in the hallway [just] outside
of her apartment so she immediately
found a place to hide
It was a place reserved for those things that many people keep
a solo beach lounge chair, all the junk was piled deep
With a measly bit of force she left the settlement alone
forcing every muscle to move with every bone.
She could hear him mouthing off to the gentleman next door
calling him a OMW, acronym for old-man-whore
She knew the power of his words would make the man just cry
but she quickly ambled out the door, her only chance to fly
She made it to her car with only seconds more to spare
When she saw him start to run towards her with a nasty, evil glare
She put the car in drive and escaped his scary trap
and went right to the police house to tell them of his crap.
The cops were so confused as to why she stayed so long
She simply told the policeman there she was trying to stay strong.
They drove out to her place and saw him lying on the ground
someone definitely shot him, the gun made little to no sound.
No body witnessed anything and they said he had no friends
And this is where the story of abuse will surely end.

Last on the Card – December 2022

Join in here https://bushboy.blog/2023/01/01/last-on-the-card-december-2022/

I am including my last two on the card so the real “last on the card” makes some sense.

So the last image on the card was the search for shipping prices for the new miniature I finished for one of my customers on Etsy. This was through UPS. Etsy does its own shipping but I like to double check since they use USPS.

Simply 6 Minutes – Welcome to the Challenge: 01/03/2023

Welcome to the 6-minute challenge!

Today’s prompt is:

Floor Optical Illusion
An optical illusion made of 400 tiles.

This is a picture of a hallway in a school perhaps, and because of the way it is painted it looks like there is a big “dip” in the floor.

*****For any participants that do NOT like restrictions, please feel free to participate in any way you would like. It is great to read the contributions!****

  1. Set up a timer or sit near a clock so you can keep track of the six minutes you will be writing.
  2. You can either use one of the prompts (photo or written) or you can free-write.
  3. Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
  4. After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
  5. *Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
  6. Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.

Thank you for participating!
