I hear her calling on the cooling breeze
Those unspoken words of the ancient tongue
Of her hands where nature’s beauty sprung
From the mountain peaks to powerful seas
The mother of life within Earth itself
Her bounty given to nurture our health
Her heart beat in a universal sigh
And still I hear her voice among the trees
As rustled whispers echo all day long
As I listen to her mystery song
For in her divine love I find my ease
It’s in her hands that the future must wait

Mother Nature offers up a compromise of sorts:
Here I give you every ordinary palm tree that exists on my earth, and every seed that might make a new one. I will even include the coconut palms as further declaration of my efforts. This will be a sacrifice I am willing to make to ensure we will come together in an agreement. I offer this concession not in jest but certainly in sorrow—the palm is a symbol of goodness.
