Celebration: Compilation 07/30/22

One night in late July
We had a jamboree
Firecrackers fly
Song in harmony
The melody was right
The group in unison
Festivities with all
Automatic fun
Scintillating stars
Burning in night skies
Beauty is exploding
A wonder for our eyes.

True to Myself: Compilation 07/28/2022

You know what really got me in my own small, guarded spot
was that this lifestyle of socializing was the only thing I’ve got.
The animus of my sharp mind was exclusively shut down
The guilt of my own actions had me feeling like a clown.
A column of my articles stood neatly in a row
a testament to how I liked my true being to show
The guile of the social group kept me spinning in my head
It made me realize what it was I wanted for my world instead

Simply 6 Minutes – Fools and Kings

Raven’s take…limericks to go with the prompt!

Jezzie G

Inspired by and written for Simply 6 Minutes – thank you, Christine

The jester, the joker, or the fool – one thing I am sure of is that he is not stupid as they were also advisors at the royal courts who a king or queen would turn to. Pretty sure king and queen would use the fool to get what they wanted from the other too Here goes…

Fools and Kings
Form: Amanda’s Dark Sonnet
Theme: Love

For the love of the queen he said I should
And for her heart, of course, he knew I would
For a laugh, she will be amused, he said
And kiss the crown sat upon my grey head
Maybe I should, maybe just take a chance
For all is fair in the ways of romance
The love of my queen, the cause is good
For the love of the queen he…

From my desk: 07/27/2022

I’ve been thinking and I want to give myself a challenge and write some sort of poem anthology and I want to ask everyone for help. For each poem, I would like to use between 7 and 10 random words. I don’t want to know if they are related, or anything else, just a list of words. For each set of words, I will write a poem, just like my compilations. I guess this would almost be like going back and grouping words from various bloggers and days, but thought it might be fun if anyone had some words they wanted me to work with. I’m also curious to see if what I come up with may be the “idea” of the blogger who left the list.

So…that being said, if you would like to help me in my personal challenge, give me a list of words in the comments below. I have done up to 12 words so I will try to attempt varying length lists. This is completely for fun and if you want me to dedicate the poem to you because it was on your list, I will. I guess it would be easier to say that if you DON”T want your name then tell me.

We shall see how this turns out. I am hoping that because blogs pop up here and there for different people randomly I will get some new bloggers with very varying lists.

Thanks!

Before I forget…I finished a few new ceramic vases and they are out of the kiln. I will be making the flowers for them and then having them on my shop on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/shop/StineMiniatures

Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge: July 26, 2022

This prompt is from Go Dog Go Cafe: https://godoggocafe.com/2022/07/26/tuesday-writing-prompt-challenge-july-26-2022/

Todays prompt: Write a poem using the words theater, children, and perspective

In my abstract perspective
I strive for something more
than children in their costumes
showing up at my front door
Its like a little theater
the street it is the stage
But some of those big actors
have surpassed the acting age.

Crazy Lady: Compilation 07/26/2022

She’d been watching her old neighbor’s house
for weeks
and weeks and more
but she saw something impossible
that made her
lock her door.
Her desire to unlock it was an option
she disposed
the brutal looking man outside
made her quietly avulse
Approximately two days more
and she was overcharged
Reacting like a live wire
was feeling very large
She couldn’t share her upset
she knew they’d find her daft
She looked and sounded crazy
especially when she laughed.
She pulled out her old pistol
and aimed it at the door.
Thats where they found her body
a bunch of bones now on the floor.

Simply 6 Minutes

Di’s take on the prompt – Awesome!

pensitivity101

Any idea what this is?
Nope, but I hear they communicate far distances with it.
Do you think he’d miss it?
Not really, he’s intent on taking a picture of his girlfriend.
OK then, give me pointers. You’re the one with the light fingers.
Yeah, but I’m in the wrong place, so you’ll have to do it.
Is it better to pinch or grab?
If you don’t want him to notice, lightly pinch and gently pull but if you feel the slightest resistance, desist and retreat.
OK……….. I’m going for it…………………

The scream was deafening.
