E.M.’s Sunday Ramble Prompt #10

Welcome back to the next Sunday Ramble. For those that are just joining us, the Sunday Ramble Prompt will be based upon a certain topic.

This week’s topic is “Music“.

Here are the questions:

  1. What is your favorite genre of music? I don’t know if I have a specific favorite because it depends on my mood and on what I am doing. I love Disco…I love country, like Hank Williams Jr….I love dance music, like techno dance, but sort of in my younger brain that still wants to go dance at a club.
  2. What is your least favorite genre of music? I don’t know if this is a genre but I can’t stand HonkyTonk or Irish Jig sounding music, maybe Celtic…
  3. What movie has a very memorable soundtrack? I have to agree with Fandango – Dirty Dancing. I also never saw it but I always loved the soundtrack to The Big Chill.
  4. What are three songs that gets you excited? Linus and Lucy https://youtu.be/x6zypc_LhnM, Island Time by Simplified https://youtu.be/PmIq9bOa_pE, Crazy Game of Poker by OAR https://youtu.be/9unKGcKGYQU
  5. What was the last song that you listened to? Little Bird by Ghost of Paul Revere https://youtu.be/-rcQj3aNbgE

Book Love

Books to me are golden
like honey from the bees
like sap slowly leaking
from trunks of maple trees.
The words are sweet as sugar
satiating my mind’s needs
a hunger for the language
leaving my head with a seed
No broken lines are taken
as a sign of things to come
for words are always with me
silky sounds in my ears hum
the black upon the pages
wind round and round each line
a dust around a knick knack
Each speck is solely mine.
My family knows I’m feeling
that books are here for good
a truckload of the bindings
I’ve read as many as I could.

Happy Kingdom

Looking at this mountain what do you see?
A bear strolling? A wolf watching?
Is this Dali’s way for me…
As my thought patterns are launching

A deeper look into this mountainous panorama
A turtle feeds from the rocks as an eagle leaves a smile
While atop this mount, for the wolf, is unfolding drama
When we look at this mountainous peak for awhile

We then see with pure imagination
No false pretenses or questionably sights
Just untold beauty with exuberant elation
Drawing you into deeper depths and higher heights

You can see beauty through the eyes of God
Snow peaks, crevices, a breathless view
Where the bear and the wolf do trod
With a panda that’s smiling back at you!
