Questions From Fabulous Bloggers

12-17-2021  Cyranny  “What’s the worst day of the week for you?”  Why? I think the worst day of the week for me is Thursday. I say this because it is at this point that I realize the week is over and I have to wonder if I accomplished all I had set out to.

1-3-2022   Mrs. A (Jazzocracy)   Mrs A proposes a question for a future SYW. “Would you ever consider posing naked or semi-naked for the camera or a live audience (acting in a play)?” I have thought about this before and I think to myself, “if I ever needed the money to help someone and I couldn’t get it anywhere else”. But to me this is a big no because I am making the parameter so far fetched that it wouldn’t happen. So, nope.

1-10-2022  Di    With the recent energy crisis here in the UK, would you prefer electric, gas, oil or some other means of heating your home? Everything seems super expensive right now. I would say no to oil, those prices were so high when I lived up north. Gas maybe since I think that can be produced easily, but I think the process is what causes all the carbon in the air. Electric is probably the way to go if you can hook it up to solar. Now, living in the south, I cannot understand why there isn’t solar on every possible building. I understand the maintenance but I think the benefits far outweigh the problem of that.

1-10-2022  Marilyn  When this pops up later tonight, I MIGHT have thought of a few questions. Like: In your household, who takes care of the bills, taxes, and other financial stuff? Is one person responsible or is it a shared chore? And this has made me notice that my phone is missing. Oops. I have always taken care of the paying the bills and all that. I think because I am so OCD about paying on time and knowing what has to paid and when. I’m not always perfect at it, especially now with the new house, new city, new utilities. David has no problem with me taking care of it.

1-10-2022  Yinglan  Not sure if this question was asked before. It’s a bit of a silly one: If you can have any one job (real or fiction) in the galaxy (yes, the galaxy, I’m widening the search radius, imagining relocation to other planets possible), what is that job? I would want to be a successful psychiatrist that works with, treats, and researches mental disorders that are perplexing to the world. I want to talk to the really crazy people and just see what their minds are telling them. I want to know why they do what they do and why they think its okay and why we can’t find a way to treat this or somehow “cure” it.

I hope you all enjoy answering these ‘other blogger questions’.   You may wish to pop over to their site and say hello.  They’re ALL awesome!

GRATITUDE SECTION  (as always optional)

Blogging Insights — New Format # 27

Dr. Tanya hosts Blogging Insights

This week she wants to know what we think of this…

” Blogging, I love you no matter how out of fashion you are. “

I just surpassed 2000 followers and I don’t care if blogging is out of fashion or not! I love it here and will continue to blog until the day that I don’t want to anymore. I have met some of the nicest people and now that I don’t work outside of the house and with COVID, it is nice to have interactions with people every day. Sometimes I wish I knew more about the people I “talk to” everyday but then again it leaves it that I see the one side of them that we have in common and maybe that is all I am meant to see.

I think I have mentioned before that the first time I told my sister I wanted to blog she pretty much laughed at me. She said “who wants to read about you crying that your husband died?”. Obviously, this was right after Bob had passed away and I was feeling alone. I didn’t ever plan on my blog being a place to come cry about my dead husband, but it has affected my life and so it affects what I write. I have had a lot of positive support from people who have gotten to know me. If there are people who want to judge me then I suppose they just never come back to read what I have to say. No one is hurt either way.

So, in conclusion, blogging may be out of style but so were high-waisted jeans and the awful things are back! I’m staying put for a while. I find myself peaceful and at home here.

Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge #153

Fandango is the host of this challenge

The photo below was provided by fellow blogger Li @ Tao Talk. Thanks, Li.

Marcus found the pieces from when he was a kid. He knew he had buried them in the yard but he never believed he would still be living here to find them. What had he been thinking back then? That someone would discover them and think of them as a treasure? All he knew now was that if he wanted to preserve what was now a vintage toy, he had better clean them up and get all that dirt off them. Luckily plastic doesn’t dissolve!

He threw the pieces into a bowl of soapy water to let them soak. He had left them there overnight, knowing plastic doesn’t do anything but sit in water, no damage would be done. By morning he took the pieces out, dried them with a paper towel, then threw them onto the pile of stuff he had on the kitchen table.

Like soldiers in a battlefield looking for mines, the soldiers he tossed onto the table were diligently looking for pressure points to use in a foot massage. Marcus laughed to himself. They probably needed a good foot massage after all the work they did in the service. Kids didn’t know what it took to be in the service and they didn’t understand that massage isn’t just a quick karate chop to the back.

Looking down at the toys now Marcus wondered if those old army men could remember being buried as a treasure. They were still sort of a treasure to Marcus; they had been a gift from his mother.

Word of the Day

Kristian is the host: https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/author/talesfromthemindofkristian/

The Word of the Day is Sketches, I hope this word inspires you to write a story or a poem.

Sketches are the images
of art inside the mind
they come in different colors
in shapes of many kinds.
We often never see it
the shape we mean to make
but stress is often released
in a messy sort of take
sometimes they are done neat
and beauty is sincere
but other times we doodle
when a pen with paper’s near.

Birth of the Fae: Thine Eyes of Mercy, Book Two

Publication Date: December 1st, 2021

Genre: Fantasy

Queen Aurora, monarch of the Court of Light Fae and King Jarvok, Leader of the Court of Dark Fae are exhausted and battle worn after centuries of fighting. A war of attrition   had taken its toll upon their kin and power bases.

What happens when you have to give in to your enemy?

All wars eventually end even magical ones. The Dark and Light Fae have set their elemental magick and weapons down but, all is not quiet in the Veil…

King Jarvok was confident his army could win the war, but at what cost? It was time to act like a King not a power hungry megalomaniac. That was his Creator’s title not his. He reaches out to Queen Aurora, and the Treaty of Bodhicitta is signed.

The treaty promises the Fae will never spill each other’s blood again. Rules for their human worshipers are put into place. The Court of Dark must not interfere with humans in a malignant way, but they can act as gods and goddesses of atonement. The Court of Light can return to acting as advisors to the European royal families, as they have done for centuries.

However, Queen Aurora and King Jarvok will learn that while they were playing war games, their humans have changed and moved away from the old ways.

The two monarchs face unknown challenges in a world where Christianity not paganism is the new power.

Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you do not.

Locked Out of Heaven (Birth of the Fae #1)

Ride on the backs of fire-breathing dragons with the Dark Fae and watch the Light Fae play in the shadows of primitive humanity as they build their magical world.
Abandoned by their creator, two factions of powerful angels remain on earth after the Great War with Lucifer. They struggle to comprehend their Creator’s plan while their angel wings, a symbol of their angelic lineage, slowly and painfully decay. With no hope of returning to the Shining Kingdom, two groups of angels denounce their angelic lineage and develop into separate factions – the Court of Light, led by Queen Aurora, a former Virtue Angel, and the Court of Dark, ruled by King Jarvok, a former Power Brigade Angel. The two monarchs have opposing views on how to govern their kin, but the one belief they agree on is that human worship equals power.
Birth of the Fae: Locked Out of Heaven is an epic-fantasy adventure of heartbreak, rebirth, and hope that examines the bonds of family, friendship, and love. It is a fantastic tale of good versus evil in a beautiful world, where the Light Fae and their potent elemental magick are tested by the raw power of the dragon-riding Dark Fae warriors.
They are their own beings and masters of their own destiny. They are the Fae.

About the Author

Danielle M Orsino, destined to be a writer from a young age, was working as a nurse and treating a patient who needed some distractions during long I.V. Treatment sessions. So, Orsino reached back to a forgotten skill, A childhood dream. Danielle had wanted to be a writer and so she decided to tell a story. Little did she know the seed would grow into a fantastically epic adventure of heartbreak, hope and rebirth — Birth of Fae: Locked Out of Heaven. Drawing from her passion for comic books, Cosplay and fantasy along with her expert martial arts expertise, Orsino brings forth an electric and hopeful debut.

Danielle is taking on her biggest challenge to date: taking the story born from the long treatment sessions with a patient into a fantasy book series-Birth of the Fae: Locked out of Heaven. Expanding her love of writing, comics and exploring the world of fantasy novels, she delves into the realm of fairies and retells their origins from a completely new perspective. Orsino has a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise science and is an LPN with a special interest in Lyme disease research. Orsino has been widely recognized from her influence and experience in martial arts realm, training for over 20 years and with over 500 tournament wins, and accumulating national and world titles. She has performed for former President of the United States Bill Clinton and has been featured on “Soap Talk, Fox Five news CBS, TLC and E! With this experience, she worked as a Fight Choreographer on ”Wonder Woman: Balance of Power” and has worked with the likes of martial arts legend Vincent Lyn and WWE marvel and action star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Nothing Danielle ever does is simple, look at what NY times Bestselling author Clete Barrett Smith has to say about her debut endeavor: “After summoning this world into existence through an imaginative force of will, Danielle has scoured every inch of the landscape several times over. Critics often praise a story’s world building by saying that it feels “lived in.” Well, the world of the Fae certainly seems like that because Danielle herself has happily lived there for years as she worked to put all of this together…My favorite part of this story is that it is gloriously depicted in vibrant images.
