Another gem of a picture this week. You can join in too here He said it was a good idea and a lot of fun. The white stuff just went on for ever and ever, but now I’m in the doghouse for something I didn’t do.
Why is it when the puppies do it, everyone oohs and aahhs, finding it so endearing and highly amusing that they make a video of it.
The little blighter set me up.
He never liked me. Got all jealous and silly because I was the latest addition and won more brownie points for cuteness. I should’ve known he had an ulterior motive when he said I looked cold and provided me with a white frothy blanket. It was warm and comfy, and I fell asleep, only to wake up to…

Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
*Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.
My First Animal Moves by Darryl Edwards. This book will get kids and parents moving!
Genre: Children’s Books/ Sports/ Illustrated Books Publication Date: September 20th, 2021 Publisher: Explorer Publishing
This adorable children’s book is perfect for this digital age where children spend more time indoors in front of a screen instead of outside playing. Despite the efforts of adults some children don’t really know what to do to have fun outside. Edwards has found a delightful way to show children how to be active while having fun. Each of the moves is related to an animal that is pictured, reducing confusion if a child does not know what a certain animal might be.
I would give this book three out of five stars. Not only does it give children some great ideas to have fun and be active, it includes the parents, almost asking children to teach their parents how to do each animal move. Although the illustrations are cheerful and bright I don’t think they convey how much fun the young boy is having moving like an animal. I think the boy could be shown having more fun which would be a better buy-in for kids. Overall, it is a great idea and children can try the moves by using picture cues even if they don’t know what the animal is.

Thanks for your participation! I have never lived that close to an airport but was a few miles from one and sometimes it sounded like a plane was going to crash on the ground
Wikipedia tells us that a flood plain is “an area of land adjacent to a river which stretches from the banks of its channel to the base of the enclosing valley walls, and which experiences flooding during periods of high discharge.” Obviously, these people didn’t follow that piece of advice.
Kind of like people who buy homes near airports. If you ever read the book Airport by Arthur Hailey, you know that one of the subplots is about people who built their homes near Lincoln International Airport (very loosely based on O’Hare Airport in Chicago, where I spent a lot of time both when I lived in Chicago and after moving to Atlanta). The people were assured by their real estate agents that noise from the airport would not be a problem, and of course it was, because just as the people who were building the airport put up signs…
Three years is a long time in our world. Bob had lived in another zoo only a few miles away, but the humans couldn’t meet up, so we went into our own isolation. My friend, my very best friend and life partner, brought me in for a hug.
When we finally let go, we had so much to tell each other.
His home had been closed because his zoo wasn’t making money, but that was good news for us. We could be a family again. His children couldn’t wait to meet him too. We could be a proper family again.
We would never be parted again, and soon the zoo was open for visitors. Humans are a strange creature, but we often flock by the entrance to see the funny clothes they wear. Sometimes we play the colour game with our children.
