Simply Six Minutes Challenge

Cheryl’s take on the prompt. Great contribution!

The Bag Lady

***

Stripes and stripes everywhere and not a one the same?

This is certainly a Mother Nature game

You might call it camouflage or interesting design

Making us all wonder what she had in mind

On the desert plains, home to these animals

They blend in well, try to not be seen at all

The sepia skins, the furry browns, even black and white

Would be hard to distinguish especially at night

Moon shadows come and go

While they wander, hidden low.

***

Times up!☺️

Di’s contribution! Thank you!

Christine has chosen another superb photograph for us to work with this week.
You can join in with her challenge here

I tell you, there’s more to this than meets the eye.
I don’t understand.
They say that no two zebra are alike right?
Yeah, so?
Well, that human over there took a picture of us and the crowd.
And?
The camera doesn’t lie. Look at what he’s looking at!!
I see us and the gang. We make a handsome herd don’t you think?
Nothing else? Can you hear anything?
Like what? It’s a beautiful day, and everyone’s enjoying the sunshine.
No birds twittering or a roaring in your ears?
No. Why?
Because you idiot, there’s a lion in our midst eying us up for dinner and the birds are just waiting to pick our bones clean!

Simply 6 Minutes—Welcome To The Challenge: 09/28/2021

Welcome to the 6 minute challenge!

Today’s prompt is:

*****For any participants that do NOT like restrictions, please feel free to participate in any way you would like. It is great to read the contributions!****

  1. Set up a timer or sit near a clock so you can keep track of the six minutes you will be writing.
  2. You can either use one of the prompts (photo or written) or you can free-write.
  3. Get ready and write for 6 minutes, that is it! Can you write a complete story? Can you think of a new Sonnet? Can you write 400 words? 400? 500? There are no restrictions on what kind of writing you do, but you should try to be actively writing for six minutes.
  4. After you are done writing, include your word count and then post back to this page #Simply6Minutes or include your link in the comments section. Pingbacks are enabled.
  5. *Feel free to leave your work completely unedited. I believe it is good to see, especially for new writers, that even very seasoned writers don’t write a perfect first draft.*
  6. Have fun, challenge yourself if you’d like, read and respond to others’ posts.

Thank you for participating!
