NaPoWriMo 2021: 4/4/2021

In honor of the always-becoming nature of poetry, I challenge you today to select a photograph from the perpetually disconcerting @SpaceLiminalBot, and write a poem inspired by one of these odd, in-transition spaces.

Find the information here:

Down an empty street

Down an empty street
I’m walking all alone
steady on my feet
I quickly kick a stone

I see the place is closed
It looks like it is gone
I thought it was still open
It’s not the only one.

Where have the places gone?
Where do I go from here?
Why is the town so darkened?
What do all the people fear?

I stare and stare ahead
and wonder how long it’s been
that this place was open
That they let the public in.

National Poetry Month Scavenger Hunt

Write a poem. Use the following words in a poem: equal, umbrella, tidy, weight

With my umbrella straight by my side
Walking along down the road
A bag of rocks in my sac
I limp from the weight of the load.

I keep the rocks at my home
to make sure the yard is complete
I like all my gardens real tidy
I like all my work to be neat.

When all of the work has been done
and I’m ready to sit down and rest
I know that my work is complete
I know that I have done my best.

New Prompt I found…from another WordPresser…

#hunthttp://Maureen Docherty @mordoc1 #vss365 #prompt Sunday 4 April 2021 #hunt

Easter egg hunts were one of the activities I loved most when my kids were little. I just wrote a bit about it last night. I love watching the kids run around, so excited. My late son was always the little one walking around slowly thinking about which one would be best to pick! My daughter would have a full basket and he would have one or two candies. She always shared with her little brother.

Check out the GoFundMe page…I am trying to raise enough funds to make a scholarship, with my son’s name on it, available to the high school he graduated from.

Please share this with everyone you know! I am dedicated to make this happen!

Happy Easter!
